Lol, I should get into the habit of saying "Help me Science!", or "FSM knows how many..."

I wonder if that would get on thier nerves.... ? Big Grin

Haha I live in GA as well. Fucking bible beltAngel I'll have to try that help me science thing. I swear so many people hate science where I live, or they like some parts but not others (evolution, things like cloning, etc.). If I just tell someone I'm an atheist they give me the "I'm gonna kill ur ass" face.

Sounds like too many people have learned science from Michael Crichton...

I can't even see a pastor or priest they make me sick to my stomach. I guess I just have the devil in me lol. Thor most of the Catholic churches assets were gained during the dark ages when they used to try people for heresy and then confiscate their property or land. Their idea of a trial was he is guilty fuck him and then they would put you on the rack till you screamed Jesus name in agony and confessed your sins. Not to mention the neat little gadgets like thumb screws and securing your feet so that they could beat the soles of your feet with a wooden paddle all in the name of the Lord. Seriously speaking on my behalf I would not attend a religious ritual if you paid me.

How does a fear of cloning mean they misunderstand science? Can't I think cloning is a bad idea and not be uneducated? We have a population problem. So we need a way to make babies faster. Also you know where cloning is gonna go, rich fucks trying to be immortal switching their "soul" into a new ride. That sounds like a bad horror movie, and I think it may end up in... Zombies!

Yeah, the history of the church is pretty sickening. Burning people, hanging "witches", participating in wars, killing "nonbelievers", torture, and now child abuse coverups.... Nice to know that if I had lived in Europe 500 years ago they would have tied me to a stake and set me on fire. And for what, exactly? How does my nonbelief harm anyone? And I love the way they determined if you were guilty or not! They would drop you in water and if you floated (as a human body naturally does) you were guilty! Or they would just torture you until you confessed to anything to stop the pain. I would've demanded that they take the local bishop and throw him in the water to see if he was guilty!

The don't call their money revenue it's a charitable gift of love from its adherents lol. They make more money than most legit companies out there and the government by allowing them non-profit status is helping them right along.

I saw an article a while back that dealt with ways to save money. In the article, this one woman gushed how she was able to save money while still giving $300 a month to her church! I read this and thought, "What an idiot!" She's giving $300 a month to a church?!? That's a fucking car payment! She could bank this money and in 20 years she would have $72,000! And that's not including any interest! What a complete waste of money!

Thor I was going to mention the old water test but I had writers block and did not quite know how to put it in words thanks for the back up. I used to work of Oxford University Press here in the states and once this priest came in because he had an appointment with one of the editors. I asked him his name so I could announce his arrival and he said Father (whatever his name was) and when I made the call I said Mr (whatever his name was) is here to see you lol. I don't acknowledge religious titles.

Glad to help! Great story with the priest! I also have an aversion to calling these people by religious titles. Although I will refer to the pope as the Dope. And right now, we have Dope Been-a-Dick!

Lol @dope been-a-dick but that is so true. My favorite is the title of Dr. Once a religious scholar came to the front desk and when I was going to announce him he said his name was Dr. so and so and I looked at him and with my sarcastic humor reached back and told him I had a pain in my back and asked him what he recommended I do and the idiot thought I was serious. He said I am not that kind of doctor lol.

Yeah, I can't stand it when someone has a doctorate in something like Library Science and they insist on being called "Doctor". What pompous blowhards!
