Even if the DOJ opts not to pursue the Committee’s referrals, it’s important to remember that Justice has its own investigation in the works. With Jack ‘Fuck Around And Find Out’ Smith on the job, there’s every possibility that Garland could prosecute Trump on his own, irrespective of what the Jan 6 people recommend.

Insurrectionist Never Learn

In the latest in an ever-growing list of criminal charges brought against January 6 rioters, a  man was arrested on Friday for allegedly plotting to kill the FBI agents who were investigating him.

With the House of Representatives committee on the insurrection preparing to deliver its final recommendations on Monday, 34-year old Edward Kelley of Maryville was charged with conspiracy, retaliating against a federal official and solicitation to commit a crime of violence, .

Let me see if I’ve got this right. A man under investigation by the FBI thinks he can make the investigation go away by killing 37 FBI agents.

I don’t have actual numbers at my fingertips, but I’m fairly certain the FBI employs more than 37 people.

I agree, but between the fact that prosecution is a long, drawn out process and the fact that right wing media is trying to retcon their support of Trump and the fact that in the process of prosecuting Trump, more and more dirt will come out to make him look bad, by the time Trump actually gets declared guilty and put in prison, his brainwashed sheep will have forgotten that they ever supported him in the first place.  If he suddenly drops dead, they won't get that cooling off period.

All it would take is for a couple of "militias" to rise up and be stamped on hard for many of the others to back down.

You'll still get a few, but they will also need to be dealt with harshly.

“I’m a proud incel,” Fuentes declared in January on his nightly America First podcast. Incel means “involuntary celibate,” a group of men who blame overprivileged feminist women for disempowering them and denying them sex. Fuentes said he refrained from sex with women because, “I’m choosing instead to lead a historical right-wing movement.”

Right Wing Watch noted that in June, Fuentes said on his podcast, "We need to go back to burning women alive more" when they're convicted of crimes. He lamented that "everything went all out of control" when women stopped being burned as witches during the medieval period. He said women are now casting spells, molesting children in schools, and falsely accusing men of rape while also raping men.
