Personal relationships with deities
RE: Personal relationships with deities
Example? Taking someone else s stuff that doesn't belong to me is stealing. I don't know why i need to give you an explanation as to why it is bad.

You don't know why I need an explanation? I want you to define bad? Tell me how you know when something is bad. Tell me what authority you have to define something as bad. Tell me what makes bad things bad.
Is offering someone an apple if they'll help you push your car a little ways bad?
Is having consensual sex with an adult bad?

I've come to view the phrase as a way of viewing one's faith/beliefs on a personal level. My faith is personal to me, and my 'relationship' with God is one that is personal in terms of how I view God, how I relate to God, how I might see God working in my own life. But, this is a theist view, and normally we view the term 'relationship' in terms of person to person, not deity to person. Or vice versa.

It's just no good, Rob. I can't get any Deity to put out. What am I doing wrong?

Whateverist: I am having the same problem. All my advances are snubbed, I'm getting the "silent treatment"! I guess they are playing hard to get.

So there is no two-way communication going on, like you would expect from two humans in a relationship?

Well, there is...in prayer. I do feel a connection in prayer.

What kind of communication do you receive? Is it just feelings, or do you get actual messages?

I'm not trying to catch you out, I'm genuinely interested Smile

It is a feeling when something is bad. For the two questions you have asked they are not bad things. However having sex with a married person is considered wrong. I consider killing mosquitoes a wrong act. That's just me.
