Good questions there Pope, when I was a believer I personally believed that salvation was a gift from god and therefore given to us by faith. But upon your confession of faith on that salvation your acts had to reflect your faith.
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
1 John 2:3-6
3.And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4.He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5.But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6.He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
The way I see it if you are a judge of the law you should lead the rest of the citizens in the province by your obedience to the law.

That is to my mind one of the more reasonable positions - insofar as any of this stuff can be called reasonable. Martin Luther believed pretty much the same.
What I am trying to show, though, is that there is no such thing as a standard christianity, and that the differences aren't small but absolutely fundamental.

I agree with you on this myself that is why there are so many sects in Christianity. They are all reading the same book but interpreting it differently.

okay,the truth is,
beliefs dont matter at all. believing in or not, matter only in as much as we use them as vehicles
for particular actions or modes of conduct.
the issue with belief is that it should be one that serves us and betters us. We have the ability to create and to analyze. These are by and large unique to humanity in that not only can we generate
them, we can also use a thought or belief to fuel physical action.
we take something purely of the mind an put it into physical expression. that is fantastic.
So for a long time, an ideal was nescessary. But man is evolving right now, and the belief is no longer enough. Man needs to know the truth. So ignorant men will claim this or that according to a belief, but humanity as a whole is comming to a point in which it will seek with greater effort a perfect understanding. And this understanding Humanity will find as a whole and this will transform him forever.
So do you need to believe in God? If you feel you must then you must and no one can tell you otherwise, if you feel that you must not, then likewise noone can tell you otherwise.
you ARE free.
that is the gift of mental soveriegnty and freedom that we all share. Believe what you will,
just remember this world is our house, regardless of what you believe, whether we succeed or fail as a species will be determined in large part not soo much by what we believe, but rather what actions we take individually and collectively as a RESULT of those beliefs.
so believe what you wish. the responsibility rests purely on our shoulder, and there
will be provided no scapegoat, none will be afforded us.
our house gentlemen
its starts with you, take responsibilty of yor mind
a dog is a reflection of its owner,
a mans conduct is a reflection of his mind
this body and this life is yours
TRAIN YOUR DOG
peace.
