Yes, an older America. Before the cold-war MAD ness filtered down to our personal lives. By this, I mean 'game theory'. Makes interesting reading, was adopted in Uk by Thatchers' cronies, and I feel it is the major problem. We're encouraged to consume everything without thought, in the mistaken belief that having 'more' of everything makes us better. Failings, faults and weaknesses are to be exploited, not examined, in our personal quest for celebrity.(=wealth) It's brinksmanship, towards our neighbours, friends, family, and eventually ourselves. We come to police our own sanity. Out of fear. Where is the quiet, considerate, loving soul in all this? Lost in the trample for plasma tv, car, house, sex, drugs and notoriety. If you see it, and speak out, you will be called mad. After all, all this 'stuff' is what we all want. Isn't it? Well., no, it isn't.
